This was an easy-to-use, well-organized web page. It had many good pictures, presentations, and other multimedia functions. We read a little about American Landscape and Architectural Design from 1850-1920.
The pictures and text came from the Francis Loeb Library at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University. Several from the faculty of Harvard had an affect on the landscape and architecture of their day. These people included Francis Law Omsted, Jr., Bremer W. Pond, and James Sturgis Pray. It included many pictures of buildings, such as this one of the Fraternity Temple Project in Chicago:
The presentation showed a wide range of American architecture, from the slums of Philadelphia to national park systems to the Golden Gate Bridge. All the pictures on the site were lantern slides, a sort of early slide projector slide. Lantern slides were a substantial contribution to the world of photography.
The website, as a whole, was great. The presentation was a very informative, giving a historical view of some of America's best architecture and landscaping. All in all, we found it very interesting.
